We may utilize the information we collect from you when you register, donate, sign up for our newsletter, respond to a survey or marketing communication, surf H2O website or app, or use certain other site features in the following ways:

To process your donations on H2O, we need to share some of your personal information with the charity you are donating to. Your contact details, date of sign-up, and the number of donations you have made including other verification metrics like social graph activity may be provided to users who you transact with on or through H2O. It should be noted that your Credit Cards information are not shared with other users in any way.
H2O will not share your email address or phone numbers with third parties for promotional or marketing purposes

When you use a credit card to make a donation to any charitable cause on our site, you are actually being redirected to our third-party provider.

What We Collect
When you visit H2O website or use one of our mobile applications, we collect your IP address and standard web log information, such as your browser type and the pages you accessed on our website. We also may collect certain geo-location information. If you do not agree to our collection of this information, you may not be able to use our Service.
If you open an account with us, the following information is collected from you:
- Account Information – text-enabled cellular/wireless telephone number, machine or mobile device ID and other similar information.
- Identification Information – your name, street address, email address, date of birth, and SSN (or other governmental issued verification numbers).
Device Information –We also may obtain information about you: (a) from your mobile device such as your device type, machine or mobile device identification number, geo-location, time zone, language setting, browser type, and IP address, and (b) from third parties for purposes of transaction processing, identity verification, fraud detection or prevention and other similar purposes. For fraud prevention purposes, we also may link your machine ID with the machines of others who use your same payment cards.
Social Web Information – including but not limited to your Facebook connect credentials (and information that you authorize Facebook to share with us though permissions). If you authorize Facebook Connect, the plugin allows us access to your friends’ contact information. We also allow you to import data from other social web services, including but not limited to Twitter and email service providers. Social and e-mail contact information helps you connect to friends and contacts for invitation and donation transmission purposes (as well as helping us improve our services and fight fraud). Additionally, another H2O user may like or comment on your activity. When your activity is liked or commented on by another user, you will receive a notification about the mentions. You may shut off notifications about these mentions in the privacy controls section.
Financial Information – bank account and routing numbers and credit cards linked to your H2O account. H2O does not share financial information with third-party social networking services such as those listed in the prior bullet. When you are using our Service, we collect information about your account transactions and trust relationships and we may collect information about your computer or other access devices for fraud prevention and other similar purposes.
Finally, we may collect additional information from or about you in other ways not specifically described here. For example, we may collect information related to your contact with our customer support team or store results when you respond to a survey.
When using our Site or App, we, or companies we hire to track how our Site or App, may place small data files called “cookies” on your computer.
Cookies are small files that a site or its service provider transfers to your computer’s hard drive through your Web browser (if you allow) that enables the site’s or service provider’s systems to recognize your browser and capture and remember certain information.

The Federal Trade Commission, the nation’s consumer protection agency, enforces the COPPA Rule, which spells out what operators of websites and online services must do to protect children’s privacy and safety online.
H2O does not specifically market to children under 13.
